Modular rope protection mat with aluminium ribs
The Edelrid PROTECTOR MAX rope protection pad has been developed for a wide range of rope paths and application scenarios. Depending on the location, rope path, and surface, it can be flexibly adapted to help protect both rope and structure from mechanical wear.
The construction consists of a flexible textile pad made of polyester and polyamide with an internal foam layer, as well as a textile holder with five replaceable aluminium ribs (available separately as the PROTECTOR MAX SHIELD). The aluminium ribs feature a reinforced geometry and are designed for high dimensional stability, even under higher loads. They can be positioned flexibly on the pad using hook-and-loop fasteners.
Both the pad and the SHIELD elements can be used separately or in combination, depending on the application. The rope protection pad can also be wrapped around the rope in a tube configuration. Multiple pads can be connected together, and two SHIELD elements can be attached to a single pad, for example where ropes run over edges or through redirects.
Multiple attachment loops allow the pad to be secured to structures and enable the positioning of additional redirecting or guiding elements. The aluminium ribs support reduced friction when ropes are moving.
The Hypalon-reinforced back helps position the pad on the structure and can reduce the risk of slipping.
